Kindergarten interviews tips!

Preparation for interviews:

  1. Consistently train the above 6 types of intelligence PLUS the politeness and responsiveness.
  2. Have a good sleep right before the interview day and wake him/her up sweetly to ensure he or she has a good mood during interview.
  3. Bring some favorable treats (dolls, juice, dried fruits or even a toy) to entice your kids if he/she has an average or stable performance – let him/her “enjoy” interviews
  4. Bring or submit a profile of your kids with all the achieved Certificates. Don’t forget your Baby Dance Certificate if you achieved!
  5. Attend more interviews to generate more experiences and widen your own choices
  6. Have smart but not necessarily to be very formal dressing and be consistent for parents and kid.
  7. Observe the reactions and feelings of your kids about the kindergarten. It is important to choose a school that he/she loves.

How to rate or grade a child?
In the past, we talk about IQs (Intelligence Quotients) with the formula:

IQ score = (Mental age/ chronological age) *100
Mean Set at 100
Standard deviation set at 15
- Children with IQ score at 130 or more are defined as abnormally high IQ.

However, new viewpoints on intelligence are becoming increasingly influential. One of the most widely accepted is the theory of Multiple Intelligence (MI) by Howard Gardner. It contends that human beings display at least 8 distinctive kinds of intelligence, each linked to a particular area of the brain and several of which are not measured by IQ tests. They are

1. Linguistic
2. Logical
3. Musical
4. Spatial
5. Bodily-kinesthetic
6. Interpersonal
7. Intrapersonal
8. Naturalist

And in Baby Dance, can you guess how many types of intelligence can be enhanced? SIX! The following 6 intelligences are enhanced in Baby Dance:
1. Linguistic
- learn the use of Native English in class by our instructors

2. Musical
- It is obvious and is about the rhythm, pitch, different types of music and forms of musical expression

3. Spatial
- in our playroom, children learn to move and interact with the others by visual-spatial experience!

4. Bodily-kinesthetic
- it is about controls of one’s body movements and objects which dance and the gymnastic activities definitely require.

5. Interpersonal
- It is about understanding of oneself and others’ moods, motivations and desires through interaction with parents, instructors and classmates.

6. Intrapersonal
- It is trained through our dance and gymnastic activities with the music, you and your child understand his/her own feeling, strengths and weaknesses.

Our recent hot topic among parents is “Interview of different kindergartens”. As an aggressive parent, you should know that practitioners of pre-school educators love to have kids with different intelligences and preferably to have all-rounded kids. Confidently showing the outstanding performance in as many fields as your kids can is critical.

Hope the above tips help and Good Luck to the interviews!
